Ben Kovler founded Green Thumb Industries in Chicago in 2014 and built it into a top-tier multi-state operator — by 2024 the company reported $1.1 billion in revenue, roughly 4,800 employees, and 100+ RISE retail locations. In August 2025 GTI sold its brand IP portfolio (RYTHM, Dogwalkers, Beboe and others) to RYTHM, Inc. (formerly Agrify) for $50M, licensing the brands back — so GTI still manufactures and distributes everything you see on Maryland shelves.
