Westminster is the Carroll County seat and the county's largest town, sitting about 15 miles north of Eldersburg. What brings Westminster shoppers south is usually one of three things: a specific brand or product on the Eldersburg menu, the daily deal rotation, or the fact that the trip is already happening for other reasons. Mount Airy sits at the corner where Carroll, Frederick, Howard, and Montgomery counties meet, which makes it one of the more awkwardly served towns in the region. The practical route east is MD-27 to MD-26, then Liberty Road into Eldersburg. About 20 minutes.
The alternative is I-70 east to MD-32 north, which is roughly 12 minutes from the MD-32 exit once you are on the highway. Whether that beats MD-27 depends on where in Mount Airy you start and whether I-70 is cooperating.
Mount Airy shoppers tend to be the most deliberate customers on this side of the county. The trip is long enough that people plan it, check the menu first, and buy in larger quantities. Quarter-ounce and half-ounce flower buys, multi-pack edibles, and vape cartridges in twos and threes are the common basket.

Finksburg is roughly 15 minutes via MD-91 and MD-32, or MD-140 depending on which end of town you start from. Hampstead runs closer to 25 to 30 minutes, generally MD-30 south to MD-140 and MD-32.
Taylorsville and Winfield sit directly on MD-26 west of Eldersburg, which makes them the simplest drives on this list: head east on Liberty Road, 10 to 15 minutes, no turns worth mentioning.
Marriottsville, on the Howard County line, is about 10 to 12 minutes via MD-32 or Marriottsville Road.
